Per information released by Israel, no fewer than 98 Palestinian individuals have died while detained since October 2023. A human rights group operating from Israel has reported that the actual number is likely considerably greater, as a result of many of missing people originating in Gaza.

Certain fatalities in confinement have been widely reported, including a 50-year-old medical chief who died in confinement after 120 days in confinement.

An inmate detained alongside the deceased stated that he was brought to the yard by guards shortly before his demise, visibly injured and unclothed from the waist down. His remains has not been returned to Gaza.

Additional detainees who lost their lives in confinement by Israeli authorities remain anonymous.
