Authorities mentioned they were contacted by a man who noticed a vehicle in Hanau marked with reddish fluid

Approximately fifty automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.

Automobiles, building surfaces and postal boxes were vandalized, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they reported in a statement.

Officers state they were notified during the night on Wednesday, when a resident discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored substance.

The fluid had been placed in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they reported.

Officers then located multiple other vandalized automobiles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.

These symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation banning the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.

Officials say early analysis suggest the substance was probably human blood.

"At present there remains no lead as to its source; investigators are currently not informed of any physical harm in relation with the occurrence," they added.

City officials announced they were attempting "to resolve the incident" and have asked to the public for details.

An important official stated the vandalism rendered him without words and needed to be addressed promptly.

"This incident hits the very heart of Hanau and revives the trauma of the right-wing terrorist attack five years ago," he stated on a platform, recalling the killing of nine people by a assailant focusing on residents of migrant background in 2020.
