Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been earned on hard courts

A revitalized the Russian player claimed his maiden title for 882 days with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The athlete, a former number one, has endured a torrid period, managing just one win at the Grand Slams and suffering a meltdown at the American major.

The player's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and issues with his serving in especial - resulted in him dropping out of the elite rankings and ultimately separating with former trainer his previous coach.

Currently working with Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently progressed in the past month - climaxing in a hard-fought three-set victory over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

It is his initial trophy following the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard court after March of 2023.

Success also means Medvedev has secured twenty-one titles at 21 different events.

"This marks the first occasion I'm at a competition with my children simultaneously, so to get a championship is particularly special," said world number 14 the champion.

"This championship is in tribute of my child Victoria, because the maiden victory I achieved when my child my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had been defeated in his previous six championship matches, featuring in Halle previously this season.

Medvedev's retrieving strategy and recurring emotional displays on the playing surface had caused observers to wonder if his skill to perform at the top level was over.

Yet the athlete has implemented adjustments in the past month, making an effort to advance forward and play aggressively, reinforced by an enhanced serving game.

Medvedev came back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the tricky Moutet, winning 4 of the last five points to take the lead.

The pair traded breaks in the second set before the challenger, bidding for his maiden professional title, gained dominance to force a final set.

He rescued four early break points in a competitive final set before the champion broke to that score to secure the win.

Fittingly, he earned the title with a rally at the net area, with his opponent incapable to manage a return after a lengthy match.
