It has been 30 anniversary after the first Toy Story film debuted, establishing the animation giant as a leading animation studio and introducing audiences to beloved figures like Woody (Tom Hanks) and the space ranger (Tim Allen), who are now famous worldwide.

In 2026, the next chapter is scheduled for release. The first teaser trailer for Toy Story 5 landed recently, providing a brief look into the plot but leaving viewers curious how it will resolve the conclusion of Toy Story 4.

Bonnie's New Toy: A Frog-Shaped Tablet Frightens the Gang

In the teaser reveals the young girl — who received the toy collection when he left for college — getting a brand new plaything, one that alarms Woody, Buzz, and the crew. Bonnie acquires her first tablet computer, and she is excited about it.

Presumably, the frog-shaped tablet will come to life just like Bonnie's other toys. However, the toys seem to view it as a threat coming to replace them, which it likely will.

The Cowboy's Comeback: Unanswered Questions from Toy Story 4

One thing the teaser avoids is what Woody is returned with his companions in the child's bedroom. The finale of Toy Story 4 depicted him set off on a fresh journey with Bo Peep (Annie Potts), journeying with a carnival and helping giveaway items locate loving owners.

Certainly, the filmmakers will explain the aftermath of Toy Story 4 in the movie. Witnessing him appear in Bonnie's room without warning is somewhat puzzling, though. It also makes us wonder whether Bo Peep will have returned with Woody. And what about the stuntman toy (the star)?

Connections from the Last Installment

At the very least, some aspects are continuing from the prior film. The last thing the cowboy did before setting off for his fresh path was pass his sheriff badge to the cowgirl (Joan Cusack), leaving her as the leader of Bonnie's bedroom. In the teaser shows the insignia pinned to her outfit.

It is hoped she is still the driving force among the group.
